We were asked to support an alliance of NHS cancer services providers in the south east. The Alliance was formed in response to:
- The demand for greater integration of cancer services around patient needs, following the NHS Future Forum review of the government’s white paper Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS
- The London Health Programme (LHP) project to commission integrated cancer systems across London
As part of the response to LHP, we were commissioned to do a stock take of all member providers’ CQUIN income for cancer services. This involved designing a template questionnaire and discussing the issues with all providers.
We were then able to brief the Finance Directors’ group as to the total CQUIN income currently available to promote integration of services and the other service improvements suggested by the LHP.
